The vision and mission of the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew is to inspire, empower and equip men and boys to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”) and to bring men and youth to Christ.
The Brotherhood endeavors to accomplish this vision and mission through the threefold disciplines of Prayer, Study and Service by…
- Praying daily for the spread of Christ’s kingdom, especially among men and youth, and for God’s blessings upon the labors of the Brotherhood.
- Studying the Holy Scriptures regularly and the teachings of the Church, to attain a better understanding of how to follow Christ and bring others into his kingdom.
- Making continuous efforts, week by week, to bring others nearer to Christ through his Church.
Two chapters of the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew operate in East Tennessee, the Ascension and St. John’s Cathedral chapters.
The Ascension chapter meets weekly at Thursday mornings at 7:00 am at Church of the Ascension, 800 S Northshore Drive, Knoxville, TN. Breakfast is provided and each meeting features either a presentation by a local or regional professional or a study series during Advent and Lent.
The grassroots chapter of the brotherhood at St. John’s Cathedral will be meeting on Sunday mornings at the Sunday school hour. The frequency of meetings will be determined in due time. For further information, contact Bill Kuhn.
