Are you called to teach and form God’s people? Are you already doing that and interested in formation from an Episcopal theological view? Need help choosing a curriculum, understanding faith development, or program planning? Do you prepare members of your congregation for baptism and confirmation?
Our diocese has an ongoing relationship with Bexley Seabury Seminary and their Pathways for Baptismal Living program. Starting in April, you can join in a limited class of participants for a six-week blended online and independent study with others in the Episcopal Church that desire more in preparing to be a faith formation leader.
April 14-May 25, 2024
Instructor: Kate Carney Bond
Explore foundational elements of faith development, the rudiments of formation, how to choose and adapt curriculum, program planning, sacramental preparation and more.
A solid foundation in Holy Scripture is required before taking the course. Years 1 & 2 of Education for Ministry (EfM) or something similar is suggested. If you have questions about your foundation, please contact Canon Beverly Hurley Hill, bhurleyhill@dioet.org.
With the endorsement of your clergy and vestry, plus current Safe Church training and a background check, the completion of this course provides the requirements to be a licensed Catechist for your parish and East Tennessee.
