Hi, I’m Bishop Brian. For Lent 2025, I would like to invite you and the whole people of the Diocese of East Tennessee to support Bridge Refugee Services. Bridge Refugee Services, for decades, has helped resettle refugees from around the globe to here in this region of East Tennessee, and they need our help now to keep promises they’ve already made to refugees who are already here, who’ve lost federal funding at this time. Help us meet the gap. Help us meet the need.
The Diocese of East Tennessee has established a fund for refugee resettlement for $15,000 that will come from diocesan resources. We would invite you to give to this as well. At the end of this video, you’ll see a way that you can give as an individual and support this effort.
In this Lent of 2025, this is a time for us as the people of God to meet this moment, to meet and give hospitality and care to the stranger in our midst, for refugees wanting to rebuild their lives here in East Tennessee. This is a chance for us to exhibit volunteer spirit and Christian spirit, and the welcoming of God’s people in our midst.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the ways in which you support parish ministry outreach, works of mercy, and justice in our communities. This is a chance for us to show up for people who need us to show up, to meet their need in this time. Bridge Refugee Services does important work in our region, and they need our help now to meet and keep these promises together.
Let’s do this.
Thank you.
