Hi, I’m Bishop Brian. I have a couple of announcements I want to make regarding our upcoming diocesan convention, which will take place February 9th and 10th here in Knoxville, Tennessee. First, the Reverend Christopher Hogin, who serves as the Associate Rector for Pastoral Care at Church of the Ascension here in Knoxville, will be taking on the duty as Secretary of Convention.
We’re grateful for Christopher taking on this extra duty to support us as we make good decisions as a body at convention. Thank you, Christopher, for taking on this role. Also today, Wednesday, December 6th, is the opening when you can either make nominations for offices that will be elected at convention. Also, today marks the beginning of when resolutions can be submitted, resolutions that might be considered by the body of the whole might be referred to Bishop and Council. This is your chance again to offer yourself or to offer others for service in the diocese. Also, to consider what we might want to say together as a body in the language of resolutions.
So thank you, thank you, thank you for all the ways in which you are part of ministry here in this diocese.
In this season of Advent, as we consider how the Christ returns again and again in our lives very much fits into our theme of Here We Are again being called again and again in ministry, knowing that as God’s ministers, we continue to receive a call not just once, but in a time of renewal and hope that is this season in the life of our diocese. Grateful again for your work, your ministry, your support of parishes, and the diocese as a whole. Thank you.
