Dear Friends across East Tennessee,
“Practicing gratitude invites joy to our life.” – Brene Brown
The United Thank Offering (UTO) ministry of the Episcopal Church invites every Episcopalian to:
- Notice the good things that happen each day
- Give thanks to God for your blessings
- Make and offering for each blessing
Through the United Thank Offering, your blessings become blessings for others. A great way to express our thanks is by donating to the United Thank Offering.
As a reminder, 100% of in-gathering funds to UTO are used to fund vital projects in the United Stated and throughout the world.
Over the next three years, the United Thank Offering, in the spirit of Matthew 25:36, will focus on areas of ministry that serve those who society has left out and left behind.
The 2023 UTO grant process will focus on the growing incarceration crisis by supporting ministries that strive to prevent incarceration and reach out to those who are incarcerated with special emphasis on preventative programs and intervention, prisoner support outreach, prison reform work and/or post-prison reentry.
We are halfway through summer, a great time to begin planning for fall in-gatherings. For more information on ordering supplies, applying for grants, and learning about the work of the United Thank Offering, visit: https://www.episcopalchurch.org/ministries/united-thank-offering/
All in-gathering checks should be payable to Episcopal Church Women with UTO in the memo line and mailed to:

This provides us with a way to track funds sent to our churchwide office and to give attribution to your parish for raising funds for UTO.
Peace, and Walk in Love,
Gayle LaMariana

UTO Grant Information
The United Thank Offering (UTO) Board is pleased to announce the availability of its 2023 UTO Annual Grants, with a focus on the worldwide incarceration crisis. These grants are awarded for projects in The Episcopal Church and throughout the Anglican Communion, each year with a different focus.
Grant application deadlines are 5 p.m. ET Jan. 6, for Anglican Communion partners, and 5 p.m. ET March 10, for dioceses of The Episcopal Church.
More information—including criteria for applicants, sample budgets and timelines, and helpful hints—as well as application and other forms are available online in English and Spanish.
The United Thank Offering was founded to support innovative mission and ministry in The Episcopal Church and to promote thankfulness and mission in the whole church. One hundred percent of UTO thank offerings—given by individuals and churches—are granted the following year. These awards support a wide range of projects, positions, educational resources, and more.
For the next three years, the United Thank Offering, in the spirit of Matthew 25:36, will focus on those whom society has left out or behind. The 2023 grant focus will be on innovative mission and ministry projects addressing all aspects of global incarceration, specifically preventative programs and intervention, prisoner support outreach, prison reform, or post-prison re-entry into society.
