Contemplative Citizenship
September 28, 2025 - November 2, 2025
Free

How do we live faithfully in a time of division, noise, and distraction? How might ancient Christian practices ground us for the challenges of public life today? Join us for a six-week series at St. Andrew’s in Maryville as we explore the connection between contemplation and citizenship—practices that root us deeply in God’s presence and send us out as witnesses of Christ’s peace, justice, and love.
We will meet Sundays at 9:15 a.m. in the Parish Hall.
Sept. 28 – A Stillness That Speaks: Why Contemplation Matters Today
Oct. 5 – Praying with the Breath of God: Breath Prayer and Embodied Faith
Oct. 12 – Dwelling in the Word: Lectio Divina and Prophetic Listening
Oct. 19 – Time Redeemed: The Daily Office and Rhythms of Faith
Oct. 26 – The Prayer that Binds Us: The Lord’s Prayer and Public Witness
Nov. 2 (All Saints’ Sunday) – From Contemplation to Compassion: Living as Contemplative Citizens
Come discover how practices of stillness, prayer, and scripture can shape us into a people of hope and action. No RSVP needed!
