Beginning June 1, Bishop Brian Cole will go on a long-deserved sabbatical and will be out of office, resting, relaxing, and renewing before returning in the fall. While away, the diocesan staff will be busy with the next phases of our visioning process. Should you require any assistance during the Bishop’s sabbatical, please reach out to the diocesan office as we will have a number of support systems in place during this time. Prayers and blessings on Bishop Brian Cole, Susan, his wife, and Jerry Lee, the famous Canine to the Ordinary, as they take this well-earned break.

Hi, I’m Bishop Brian. I have been serving as your bishop now for over seven years. One of the best joys of my life has been to do this work with you. And I’m now going to step away for a few months of sabbatical. And, in June, July and August, I will be away traveling with Susan and family and others, to Kentucky, to North Carolina, to Oklahoma, to Virginia, Wisconsin, Minnesota.
All this time is really just a time of refreshment and renewal. Continue to give thanks for the work that we’ve gotten to do these last seven years and prepare for what’s next when I return. You’re in great hands with diocesan staff. Also, Bishop Neil Alexander and Bishop Shannon Duckworth will be prepared to support our staff if they have need for any episcopal input.
And just know that in this time, I am grateful for you for the chance to step away, to be a part of this ministry with you. Look forward to being back with you in the fall. And again, thank you, thank you, thank you for your support of me, of Susan, of this staff of ministry in this diocese. We are fortunate to be here.
Looking forward to this time away and looking forward to seeing you again in September. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
